Personal Power Path
andymilk | June 4, 2007Over the past several months, I’ve been helping a client develop a self-help web site that gives people the tools to overcome whatever obstacles they face in their personal lives. The site started with a very simple idea, some basic content, and a site map. Over the past several months, it’s grown into a relatively popular self-help web site, that now focuses mostly on anger management.
The site’s URL is http://www.personalpowerpath.com
We built the site using ColdFusion and SQL Server, utilizing ColdFusion’s object-oriented CFC approach, which has helped immensely with the site’s performance and scalability. Enhancements to the site are a snap because of existing objects already built-in to the site.
Here are a few of the modules and technologies we developed for this site:
- Custom login/registration
- Custom content based on survey answers
- Dynamic survey engine
- Automatic SMS text-message signup and delivery
- Periodic automatic content delivery via e-mail to subscribers
- Streaming video purchases (eCommerce)
- PayPal integration
- Custom message board
- Personal private journal
We’re still drummin up ideas for the site and trying them out on the growing user base.
Check out the site and let us know what you think!
